Bank of America is the largest bank holding company in the United States by assets and the second largest bank by market capitalization. When the company acquired Merrill Lynch in 2008 the bank also gained the title of world’s largest wealth manager and one of the top dogs in the investment banking industry and the third largest company in the world.
