You should always write a thank you letter after an interview. If you follow the guidelines in our article on How to Write a Thank You Letter then it should look somewhat like this sample thank you letter:

After you’ve written a cover letter and resume and had the interview, then you should promptly send an interview thank-you letter. You should always send the thank you letter within 24-hours of your interview. You can send it either typed, hand-written or through an email. This will show companies that you are still interested in hearing back from them.
