Google Company is on Hiring High

First it was Disney, then Microsoft, now Google. These companies basically run every (or at least the most important) aspects of our lives… including our career! The Google Company is huge and has always been known for its amazing employee packages and internship opportunities. Now, they are going on a hiring frenzy!

The Internet giant added more than 4,500 “Googlers” to its employee ranks in 2010 (increasing the workforce by 23%) and plans to easily eclipse that figure this year, Google senior vice president of engineering and research Alan Eustace said in a blog post. The projected growth is seen to be at 6,200 new employees by the end of 2011.

The highest employee year growth for Google was in 2007 – right before the recession hit – when they hired a little more than 6,000 new employees.

Whereas this is fantastic news for computer junkies everywhere, along with HR, media, writing and design folks, some investors are a bit weary of the huge jump, saying the huge growth in a small amount of time might hinder overall growth and profit.

Google currently has around 24,400 employees. Where will they stop? Nobody knows!
