It has finally happened! The job recession is finally rising from the depths of carnage and wreckage it left us in back in 2008 and is staring at the sun with purpose and promise of a greater job market future. In fact, the National Association of Colleges and Employers recently conducted their job outlook 2011 fall survey and found a positive trend in hiring trends.
To be more specific, the survey found that 2011 graduates might have the chance to find some industries and companies that are expected to hire more. The survey also found which majors employers and career areas are gravitating towards.
The following were considered the most widely looked for by employers in 2011:
- Business
- Computer Science
- Engineering
These popular majors are followed by accounting and finance. In fact, according to the NACE survey, 62% of companies plan on hiring new accounting professionals in cities all over the country this year.
The good news continues! The NACE research also shows that in 2011 employers are planning to hire 13.5% more new bachelor’s degree program graduates than they did from the class of 2010. This shows an increase trend of companies hiring students with bachelors degrees, which is a good trend for students still working towards their degree.
