Even though Americans have been through one of the worst recessions in the past year, there are still some cities in the U.S. that have done better overall than others. Better refers to having more job offerings and less layoffs while other cities are faring worse in the unemployment sector.
U.S. News used information from a database off 2,000 cities and worked with Onboard Informatics, a company that provides real estate, media and technology answers, to create a list of the best places to find a job in 2009. Here’s what they came up with:
- Anchorage, Alaska
- Arlington, Virginia
- Columbus, Ohio
- Honolulu, Hawaii
- Houston, Texas
- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
- Salt Lake City, Utah
- Shreveport, Louisiana
- Tallahassee, Florida
- Wichita, Kansas
