A dentist is responsible for examining, diagnosing and treating a patient’s teeth, gums and mouth tissue for disease and injuries. Depending on their preference, dentists can work in their own office as General Practitioners or work as part of a larger dental group in specialized areas of study as an Orthodontist, Endodontist, Oral Pathologist, Oral Surgeon, Pedontist, Periodontist, Prosthodontist or Public Health Dentist .

An environmental scientist works both in a laboratory and outside in the environment to study our natural resources and prevent various sources of pollution. They work to control the hazardous environmental factors that can negatively affect human health.

Optometrists are responsible for making sure that people see clearly and without any problems. They must be able to examine patients, diagnose them for vision-related illnesses such as glaucoma or cataracts and write prescriptions for eyewear and contact lenses.

A veterinarian works to research, diagnose and treat animals for health-related problems. Animals treated can range from household pets to livestock. Veterinarians are not only compassionate about animal life, but they are also interested in the science of how animals behave and act. They should be able to understand animal anatomy, medications, diseases and breeding habits.
